Turo is an expedition – from old world techniques to unparalleled inventiveness on the wine and beer landscape. In this confounding, wine-like / sour ale hybrid, we stomped whole cluster Grenache grapes from Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard and combined it with our sour blonde wort, undergoing a secondary fermentation from the native microflora of the grapes and the house culture in our oak puncheons. After removing and pressing the fermented grape must by hand, it was reunited with the remaining volume and transferred to French oak barrels for extended aging. Like an oaky red wine with abundant dark fruited character, Turo is packaged still (without carbonation) and is intended to be enjoyed at room temperature. Trust us when we say you’re in for a trip.
